Kleven 107 superyacht - first pictures and project update

The Kleven 107-metre explorer superyacht is on time for deliver with construction well underway.

This is the first luxury grade yacht from the Norwegian shipyard, which has previously been known for its commercial projects. The giant explorer superyacht was ordered at Kleven in March 2013.

While more superyacht in style than Kleven’s previous projects, the 107-metre yacht is still a serious vessel, designed for long-range expeditions in the most trying of sea conditions. Designed by Norway’s Marin Teknikk, she will accommodate 60 guests over her seven decks. Kleven has collaborated with Teknikk on many of its offshore vessels, bringing his oceangoing yacht know-how to the new build.

‘We have worked with Marin Teknikk for many years, developing numerous offshore vessels together, and the collaboration between us always works well,’ says Ståle Rasmussen, CEO of Kleven. ‘This vessel is a good example of our ability to develop and build specialised vessels and prototypes.’

The Kleven 107 will feature a helicopter landing pad, helicopter garage and swimming pool, and she will carry a large main tender measuring 21 metres on the foredeck. ‘One year ago Marin Teknikk was contacted by the shipowners asking if we would design a so-called Expedition Support Vessel’, added Svein Rune Gjerde, CEO of Marin Teknikk. ‘This has been a different and interesting project for our design team.’

The Kleven 107 superyacht is scheduled for an April 2015 delivery.
